The United Airline case is very different. The settlement was negotiated down from $140M law suit. A reasonable guess is probably in 20-30M range. I bet a lot people will take it as a fair settlement. Plus UA did apologize, and there were enough coverage to raise the awareness. I am not sure what other better outcome can be.
