For a distinguished scientist, I am very surprised that he ignored the lack of scientific and clinical evidence supporting his claim, especially at this sensitive time point.

他只是说有这种可能性啊， 问题是MSDS上也说通过空气是可能的。

CDC也不是好东西， 护士感染， 原因还没查出来， 第一时间就咬定是“breach protocol"， 这是科学家的做法吗？

I work for the federal goverment, believe me I know how fxxked-up they are. That being said, the most likely cause of that nurse's infection is breached protocol, either by herself or someone else. Just my opinion though.

In fact I do agree that we do not know everything about Ebola virus, and there is this possibility that it can be trasmitted through air (although very unlikely) and precaautions should definitely be taken for that. But I also believe in evidence-based medicine. There is just no clinical evidence supporting Dr. Sanders's claim. To me, it is highly not professional for him to show up on national TV and comment on something not in his field.

Hate CNN all we want, but when it comes down to matters of science, I'd rather side with CNN than Fox News, which is known for promoting denial, bigotry and ignorance. This is the only reason why I find a lot of (luckily not all) Republican candidates repulsive.

但是也没有clinical evidence说一定不通过空气传播，从防范性讲，按空气传播来防范不是更安全？

No, it does not. Contact isolation and air/droplet isolation have totally different standard.

所以CDC在国内是用的contact isolation，然后护士中招了，西非沿用的air/droplet isolation，所以那里病人虽然多，中招的医护人员比例远不及美国国内。

Can not agree more. I do not like these physician-politicians. They get so lost in the corrupted system and some even use it as their safe heaven.

In fact they are not using droplet isolation over there according to the pictures from the web. These masks are not facial-fitted N95.

西非医护中招比例不低啊

When in doubt, we should treat it as airborne isolation. That should be the standardized protocol for US to adopt, when there is only so few Ebola cases present and so much resource available.
In fact I was shocked that we are not doing it already.

I was hoping CDC and the Feds would jump on the case (patient zero) as soon as he is discovered, and nip it at the bud, plus travel restriction to and from outbreak countries, screening in every international airport... but instead they let a local hospital deal with it and sit on their asses.

That went well.
