Update:
========================================================
Update:
IRWIN 5" vise
1/2" Torque wrench
Daniel Defense barrel nut wrench
Ultimate Arms Gear 2 Piece .223 5.56 AR15 AR-15 M4 M16 A1 A2 Rifle Upper Receiver Mag Magazine Polymer Gunsmith Action Vise Block
==========================================================================================
Update:
===================================

Are you talking about the 4 button head cap screws?? Why does everyone keep talking about a bolt. The OP said he stripped the head. A soldering gun won't fix a stripped head or heat it up enough to help if it wasn't stripped. Have a helper hold the upper with the muzzle on the floor on a block of wood. Put an internal torx socket (1/4" drive) slightly larger than the hex socket in the screw on a 12" extension.. Beat the shit out it of driving the over sized torx bit into the cap screw. Put an old fashion impact driver (the kind you twist and hit with a hammer) into the extension. I'll bet you won't hit it twice before it breaks free. If you don't know what I am talking about you need to take it to a machine shop for removal. GH
Good Morning Sir,
Thanks for submitting your issues to us online and I apologize for the delay in my response. I will be glad to take care of this for you. I will have a UPS label sent out to you to have the rail system returned to us for repair. Which rail do you have?
Hi Caroline,
I bought the DDM4 V5 rifle last summer. I’m sorry but I’m confused about the model of the rail since DD has many series. It’s a 12” quad rail with 4 allen nails securing it. It looks like an AR15 Lite rail III system but I’m not sure. I did finally remove the handguard but damaged the screws. Can I get a set of screws to replace them?
Now I have other issue about the upper. I’m planning to switch a Noveske SPR barrel on that upper and keep using the DD rail since I know nothing can beat it for its quality. I also want to use the DD barrel for a lighter setup with BCM handguard. I’m having a really hard time to loose the barrel nut and the gas block pin. I know it’s taper tin and I’m pretty sure I use a correct punch from the correct side. Could you help me disassemble the upper please?
Thank you very much.

I will have the screws needed sent out to you today! The v5 does come standard with the DDm4 rail which is the same rail system as the Lite Rail III just with a different designation used for in house complete builds. We did that so we can differentiate between what is built as a complete rifle or URG in house and what is built by the end user. Same rail, different lasering.
To remove the taper pin, use 1/8th inch punch removing the pin from left to right. It should take a little force but it will come out. Do you have it secured in a clamp? The barrel nut should be torqued to 50ft/lbs. If you are having any issues removing these after this information let me know and I will have one of our tech guys contact you. ;)
Thanks and I’ll get those screws sent out asap!

Thank you for the valuable information you provided. I did use the 1/8 Stanley punch and 20oz Stanley hammer to try to remove the pin from left to right but failed. I also lubed it with some oil overnight. I’ll try to secure it in a block to see if I can get more force on it. I’ll try again tonight with securing the barrel with Irwin 5” vise to remove the barrel nut. I’ll update you how does it go.
Finally I'm able to loose the muzzle device and the barrel nut. However I'm still unable to remove the gas block pin. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have copied Joe Marler here who may be able to provide more insight than I did! I know to remove the taper pin sometimes takes a good deal of effort. Using the 1/8th punch and making sure you are removing it left to right usually takes care of it.
Joe,
Any other suggestions for Qi? He stated he’s oiled overnight and is still unable to remove the taper pin at the gas block.
Pin needs to be hammed out left to right. The ejection port on your upper should be facing downward. If the taper pin is protruding through the left side of the gas block, use the largest pin you have to break it loose. Once it's free, drive it through with a smaller punch. Sometimes it takes a pretty good whack to get it loose.
我:
Hi Joe,
Thank you for clarifying this to me. I believe that I followed exactly this procedure. The attached pictures shown my gas block and the tool I used. I'm worried about damaging the gas block if I hit harder as you can see the hole and the pin are already chipped.
Joe:
Looks stuck to me.
Caroline,
Set him up to have it sent in so we can remove the taper pin and send it back with a new taper pin.
