I had danner raptor hunting boots. They didn't last during my wilderness hunting trip. Basically it soaked through when walking through morning dew the second day and one of clips fell off. Good things is danner gave me back full credit, which I used to buy two cheaper pair danner boots. For absolute waterproof., rubber lined is a must. Gortex or leather is of no use.
