I'm sorry to report that mine is back at S&W right now for two reasons:
1. With both the two factory mags and two Tripp Research mags the slide failed to lock open on empty about 20% of the time.
2. Accuracy was so poor as to be unacceptable. With my standard loads, from sandbags at 10 yards, the groups averaged 5 1/2". With factory ammunition the best I could fire was 3 1/2". (At that range with with other pistols I can shoot sub-1" groups off-hand.)
This was very disappointing from a $1500 MSRP 1911.
On the other hand, the trigger, which was a trifle loose (as expected) was excellent at 4 1/2#.
I was planning to use it in the local steel plate matches, but accuracy was so poor I couldn't consistently hit the 20 yard plates.
So, back to the Smith smiths it went.
