Update 06/11/2018
WHAT'S NEXT ON THE GUN BILLS?
June 11, 2018. Following passage of the package of 6 anti-gun bills by the legislature on June 7, here's what's next on the bills:
1. Governor Murphy has tweeted that he will sign all of the bills on Wednesday, June 13. Until he signs them, they are not yet enacted into law.
2. Regarding the magazine ban, once it is signed, there is a 180-day implementation period. There will be time to assess all available options and determine the best course of action to take regarding your property. The implementation period has the potential to be further extended in anticipated litigation.
3. ANJRPC will be issuing extensive legal analysis, initially on the magazine ban, and then on the other bills. Many gun owners have been contacting us with questions about the bills. Most questions will be answered in the legal analysis that is coming -- feel free to contact us with questions that remain after you have seen it. And remember, current ANJRPC members get free legal advice from our retained attorneys on brief legal questions about NJ firearms law (see the inside back cover of your latest member magazine for details).
LAWMAKER VOTING ROSTER
ON THE GUN BILLS
ANJRPC has posted the full legislative voting roster of every legislator on every one of the 6 gun bills that passed both houses. Please click here https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.anjrpc.org/resource/resmgr/files/voting_roster_2018_gun_bills.pdf to see how lawmakers on both sides of the aisle voted.
Gun owners have long memories. Although the next state legislative election in New Jersey isn't until 2019 in the Assembly, we will remember both our friends and foes alike in the future.
Please watch for follow-up alerts later this week.
